Janey Mary WINS top award at the Hollywood Film Festival/ Awards

Janey Mary made it's LA Premiere at the prestigious Hollywood Film Festival/ Awards on the 26th October at the ArchLight Cinemas on West Sunset Boulevard. Where it also picked up 'Best Short Film' (Hollywood Discovery Award) at the Awards Ceremony.
Other noted honorees at the awards were Clint Eastwood for Best Director, Christopher Nolan's for "The Dark Knight".
Special honors went to Dustin Hoffman for career achievement, Ben Stiller's "Tropic Thunder" for comedy, Josh Brolin, Kirstin Scott Thomas, Marisa Tomei, James Franco, Sally Hawkins and Robert Pattinson for acting; Clint Eastwood and John Patrick Shanley for directing; Christopher Nolan, Charles Roven and Emma Thomas for producing; John Patrick Shanley and Dustin Lance Black for screenwriting; "Wall-E", directed by Andrew Stanton, for animation; Danny Elfman for film composing; Mandy Walker for cinematography; Daniel P. Hanley and Mike Hill for editing; John Nelson and Ben Snow ("Iron Man") for visual effects; Sarah Greenwood for production design; and Deborah Hopper for costume design, as well as the Screen Actors Guild and Variety's "10 Actors to Watch."

The Bahamas Internatonal Film Festival is scheduled to take place between Dec. 4th-11th.

Janey Mary has been selected to screen at this year's Galway Film Fleadh 2008. For anyone who would like to attend the screening it will be
screened on Friday morning July 11th as part of New Irish Shorts Program 1, which starts at 10.00am. Tickets for the screening are available at the Town Hall Theatre on (091) 569777. More on booking tickets here.
For those attending the screening you've a chance to meet the cast and crew. Among those attending will be the film's star Kelsey Enright, actress Catherine O'Farrell who plays Janey's Mother, composer Éanán Patterson and film director Paul Brady.

Janey Mary has been invited to screen at the Sapporo Short Fest 2008 which takes place in Japan. It is an Academy Award qualifying event.

Janey Mary has been selected to screen at Rhode Island Film Festival 2008. It's one of America's top 12 film festivals and is an Academy Award qualifying event.

Janey Mary picks up 'Special Jury Mention Award' at the European Independent Film Festival. - 01-04-2008

Janey Mary has picked up a 'Special Jury Mention Award' at the European Independent Film Festival.
The festival took place in Paris between 14th - 16th March 2008. Janey Mary was the only Irish film selected and was attended by the Irish Ambassador to Paris Anne Anderson. You can read the glowing Festival review of the film here.

Janey Mary has been selected for the Jameson Short Film Competition in association with Kodak at the 8th Jameson Belfast Film Festival, 10th April – 19th April 2008.

One of Janey Mary's key actors passed away - John Brady - 20-09-2007
|

 |
John Brady who played the 'Frail old man' in the film passed away on the 20th September after a short illness. He was much
loved by cast and crew and was a complete gentleman. John is the father of director Paul Brady who has dedicated the film in his memory.
